Bac Bo (Evolution)
Bac Bo (also known as Bac Bo Evolution) is a widely played game in Asia, offering a unique twist on the traditional dice game. It involves the use of three dice, and the goal is to predict the dice outcome accurately. Participants can place wagers on various number combinations, including odd or even outcomes, or specific numbers and their combinations. A common bet in Bac Bo Evolution is on “Three of a Kind,” which means all three dice display the same number. The game is played over multiple rounds, and each betting choice is influenced by both probability and the player’s strategy. Players have the advantage of reviewing past results, which helps them make better-informed choices in subsequent rounds. One of the standout features of the game is the presence of live dealers, which brings an extra layer of energy and excitement to Bac Bo. The game’s appeal lies in its straightforward rules and the ease with which new players can learn how to play, making it a thrilling experience for participants.
Introduction
Bac Bo is an innovative live dealer table game developed by Evolution. It combines elements of Baccarat and Sic Bo, which is reflected in the name Bac Bo.
While it’s often described as a variant of Baccarat played with dice, I prefer to see it as a reimagined version of Dragon Tiger, but using dice instead. The game features two main positions: Player and Banker. Each position is assigned two dice, and the winner is determined by which position has the highest total from the two dice rolled. It’s really that straightforward.
There are no complex side bets or additional wagers. Players can simply choose between Player, Banker, or Tie. The Tie bet offers a payout of 88:1 when the dice land on either Double Sixes or Double Ones.
Before you dive into Bac Bo, here are five key things you should know:
- The table is equipped with four dice shakers that are responsible for shaking the dice during the game.
- The game history, or previous results, is never reset. This is in contrast to Baccarat, where the shoe is shuffled after each round.
- The game is easy to understand, with no complicated rules. The position with the higher total wins.
- The dice are rolled in a specific sequence: Dice 1 – Player, Dice 2 – Banker, Dice 3 – Player, Dice 4 – Banker.
- The RTP (Return to Player) is 98.87%.
Bac Bo design
Bac Bo (Evolution) showcases a contemporary and engaging design that merges traditional aspects of Asian culture with cutting-edge visuals. The game is crafted in a style that evokes the essence of a casino environment, featuring vibrant lighting and live dealer images that help recreate the experience of being in a real-world gambling venue. The main emphasis is placed on the three dice rolled by the dealer, which are displayed in high definition, enabling players to easily view the results. The user interface is sleek and intuitive, with clear segmentation into various betting zones and an easy-to-read display of players’ current balances. A user-friendly control panel allows quick selection of bet types and offers insight into previous outcomes. The visual animations are fluid and captivating, injecting energy into the overall gaming experience. Multiple display options are available, ranging from basic to more advanced versions that include additional statistical information. Bac Bo (Evolution) also distinguishes itself through the incorporation of sound effects, which further enhance the immersive atmosphere, ensuring players are fully engaged in the gameplay.

How To Play Bac Bo
As previously mentioned, Bac Bo is an incredibly straightforward game to play. It is played with a total of Four Dice—two Blue Dice for the player and two Red Dice for the Banker. Each die is placed on one of four shaker positions on the table, with each position holding a single die.
Once the betting phase begins, which lasts for roughly 15 seconds, the dice shakers start to vibrate. When the betting period concludes, the dice stop shaking at varying intervals, heightening the suspense and anticipation throughout the round. The first die to come to a halt is the Player’s, followed by the Banker’s. After that, the Player’s die stops, and then the Banker’s die follows.
Once all dice have ceased shaking, the totals for each position are tallied. The position with the highest total is declared the winner. In the case of a tie, the player’s wager is returned, with a deduction of 0.10 or 10%.
Placing Bets in Bac Bo
There are three possible positions where bets can be placed:
- Banker – this position offers a payout of 1:1 for a win and 0.9:1 for a tie.
- Player – this position also pays 1:1 for a win and 0.9:1 for a tie.
- Tie – this option offers a payout range from 4:1 to 88:1.
- 2 or 12 pays 88:1
- 3 or 11 pays 25:1
- 4 or 10 pays 10:1
- 5 and 9 pay 6:1
- 6,7 or 8 pays 4:1
Bac Bo Strategy
In this game, there are only three possible outcomes: a Player win, a Banker win, or a Tie. From a betting perspective, the odds of the game ending in a Tie are much lower compared to it resulting in a win for either the Player or the Banker. According to the rules, if a Tie occurs and you have placed a bet on either the Player or the Banker, your wager is refunded, but with a 10% deduction.
Therefore, the most valuable bets are always on either the Player or the Banker.
While Bac Bo doesn’t have a specific strategy, there are a few betting options available to you:
- Consistently place your bet on the same position – either Banker or Player.
- Alternate your bets between Banker and Player.
Both of these strategies require a streak of wins for you to make any profit. The challenge lies in not knowing when these streaks will occur. The only information you have are the road maps that display the past results. However, it’s important to note that these maps do not predict future outcomes. Relying on them could increase the chances of depleting your bankroll. However, I do believe in probability – if a certain result hasn’t happened for a while, it’s statistically likely to occur soon. This is how you can attempt to time your bets. From my experience, runs of four or more wins are rare, so I suggest stopping your bets if you experience a loss and starting fresh afterward. This approach works well for smaller wagers.
Alternatively, you could place a larger bet at intervals, depending on which outcome you believe is most likely to occur next. This approach carries more risk, as an incorrect prediction could result in a significant loss, which you’ll have to recover in your subsequent bets.
The Martingale system isn’t really a strategy but rather a betting progression. The idea behind it is that you double your previous bet until you secure a win. This way, you recover all previous losses with a single winning bet, returning to your original stake. However, the downside of this method is that you need a substantial bankroll to support the doubling of bets. After a few consecutive increases, the stakes can become prohibitively high.
Bac Bo Road Maps
Bac Bo offers a detailed collection of Road Maps, which visually depict the outcomes from previous rounds.
In contrast to Baccarat, these roadmaps are not reset but continue to display as the dice are rolled.
The following Road Maps are available:
- Bead Road – This displays the results of past rounds. A red circle indicates a Banker win, a blue circle marks a Player win, and a gold circle represents a Tie. Clicking on the road switches the view from English to Simplified Chinese and Score Mode.
- Big Eye Road, Small Road, and Cockroach Road are variations derived from the Bead Road, providing alternative visual representations of previous outcomes. For more details on how Baccarat Roads are constructed, see the reference for further insight.
- The Big Road arranges the outcomes to highlight streaks, with each new column indicating a fresh streak for either Banker or Player.
Additional statistics are shown as percentages based on the last 50 results.
Final Thoughts
Bac Bo is a streamlined version of Baccarat, where Dice are used instead of cards to determine the outcome. This hybrid game has been designed as an alternative to both Sic Bo and Baccarat. The overall atmosphere of the game exudes a distinctly Asian vibe, and its straightforward gameplay makes it an ideal choice for players from that region.
True to Evolution’s reputation, the presentation, studio setup, and dealers are of the highest quality, ensuring that no matter where you play, you will enjoy a top-notch experience with Bac Bo.
